REVERE PILATES STUDIO
Environmental Policy

At Revere, we believe that how we move through the world matters, both on the mat, and off it. As a boutique studio, we’re lucky to operate in a space that’s naturally low-impact, filled with daylight and designed with intention.

We know sustainability is a journey, and we’re always learning. Here’s what we’re doing so far:

What We’ve Done

  • Replaced all studio lighting with energy-efficient LEDs to reduce our electricity usage.

  • Redesigned our sock sleeves to remove plastic hooks and minimise waste.

  • Gone paperless: All bookings, forms, and waivers are handled digitally, (no clipboards or paperwork here!).

What We Do Daily

  • Switch off: Opening and closing procedures ensure lights, fans and air-conditioners are turned off after each teaching block.

  • Lighting timers: Our lights automatically turn off if left on.

  • Clean consciously: We use biodegradable wipes to clean equipment and mats between classes.

Why not microfibre cloths and spray?

    • Microfibre is plastic.

    • Washing cloths uses significant water and power.

    • Hygiene standards mean we'd need 40+ cloths a day.

    • Spraying aerosols indoors isn’t great for lungs or air quality.

  • Stock reusable, 100% recyclable aluminium water bottles and cans from an Australian-owned supplier.

  • Buy once, buy right, and when possible, buy secondhand.

  • Separate and recycle waste using studio-accessible bins. Our only real waste comes from cleaning wipes.

Technology & Energy Use

We keep our tech setup intentionally minimal. Our speaker, iPad, and mobile internet device runs on rechargeable batteries and are only powered when in use. By avoiding constant plug-in systems, we reduce standby power consumption. Those sneaky “always on” drains that add up over time. Our devices are energy-efficient and portable, which suits both our small space and our values. When it’s time to upgrade, we recycle or repurpose wherever possible, and always aim to extend the life of what we use.

Supporting Local

We love working with local suppliers, from client gifting to studio equipment. Supporting small, local businesses means we’re keeping our impact low and our values aligned with the community we’re part of.

Looking Ahead

We know we’re doing well and we’re committed to staying vigilant and intentional. Some of the things we’re exploring include:

  • Reducing bin liner use, or removing them where practical.

  • Collaborating with property management to improve litter management along our shared streetscape.

  • Exploring partnerships with local groups to address sharps disposal in our area safely and respectfully.

If you have ideas or suppliers you'd love us to know about, let’s talk. Revere is a shared space, and the way we look after it reflects who we are. You can always email hello@reverepilates.com.au to discuss.
