Burning Questions, Barre None

A straightforward guide to our classes, bookings, and studio experience.
getting started
-
To book classes, you’ll first need to create an account through our booking platform, Momence. You can do this here. Once your account is set up, download the Momence mobile app to view the timetable, purchase a pack or membership, and book into any class that suits you. Easy!
-
We recommend our Revere the Mat class. Not only is this our signature class style, it’s open-level and provides a brilliant full-body Contemporary Pilates workout to challenge both the new beginner and the seasoned Pilates-pro.
As our class styles build upon and compliment the skills you learn in Revere the Mat, it’s important you familiarise yourself with our studio, instructors and cueing before trying other variations.
-
Bring a water bottle, a mat and make sure you’ve got grip socks (we sell them at the studio if you need and you can hire a mat for $3).
Please arrive 10 minutes early so we can say hi, help you settle in, and give you a quick tour.
-
You could wear your pyjamas if you really wanted to.
Wear clothing that allows you to move freely and something that you feel comfortable in. We don’t care if it’s a matching set, if it’s inside-out (it happens when you get dressed in the dark lol) or if it’s even activewear.
Just don’t forget your grip socks, please!
-
There’s plenty of free, 2 hour street parking available on Albany Highway. No ticket required.
If you’re unfamiliar with our location, allow yourself a few extra minutes the first time you visit to get your bearings. -
We're a boutique, mat-based studio in East Vic Park with a warm, down-to-earth vibe.
Classes are small, the music is good, the teachers are passionate, and there's always a sense of community in the room.
We teach Contemporary Pilates, not off-Method hybrid versions.
injuries, pregnancy & wellness
-
Absolutely, with a few considerations.
If you’re currently pregnant, we’d love to chat first to make sure you’ve received exercise clearance from your healthcare provider.
Our Barre classes are pregnancy friendly, however if you wish to join any of our other class formats, a 1:1 Pregnancy Appointment is required. This allows us to discuss exercise guidelines during pregnancy, and appropriate modifications for you to take on the mat. -
If you’re unwell, we kindly ask that you stay home.
Rest up and we’ll see you back on the mat soon. Please cancel any class bookings according to our cancellation policy to avoid fees.
-
In most cases, yes, but it depends on the condition and how you're feeling.
We recommend emailing us first so we can find out more information.
Instructors can offer modifications during class. For specific or ongoing conditions that are tricky to self-manage in a group setting, Private Pilates appointments would be extremely beneficial.
Bookings & cancellations
-
If you can’t make it, please cancel through the Momence app at least 8 hours before AM classes and 4 hours for PM classes.
An automatic $10 late-cancellation fee applies to all clients, irrespective of pack or subscription.
-
Not cool. We run a small, tight studio and when you book and don’t show up, that spot could’ve gone to someone else.
It’s not just a bummer for us, it’s unfair to the community.
That’s why no-shows incur a $20 fee and a forfeit of the credit used to book. It compensates for your instructor’s prep, anticipation, for the limited space, and for other clients who may have missed out.
We're here to support your movement journey, but we also value mutual accountability.
-
Our cancellation policy lives within our Studio Terms & Conditions, (the ones you should read, not speed-scroll through just so you can tick accept).
-
Some do, some don’t!
If a class is full, join the waitlist. You’ll get a text or email notification to confirm if you’ve been added to the class from the waitlist.
If you no longer have Pilates intentions, kindly leave the waitlist so others get a chance to join.
Studio Etiquette & Experience
-
Yes they’re called grip socks, but they’ve got a more important role to play than keeping you connected to the mat.
You may be surprised (or not) to hear that wearing grip socks in class prevents direct contact with our Pilates equipment, reducing the risk of fungal infections and skin irritations. Socks also reduce the pick-up and transfer of dust, dirt and bacteria.
Please wear socks for the health and comfort of others who share the space. -
We have mats available to hire for $3.
-
We ask that you keep your phone on silent and tucked away during class so you (and others) can be fully present. Same goes for smart watches, don’t let the haptics and fitness rings take you out of your practice.
Need to keep it nearby for a reason? Just let your instructor know before class.
-
Revere the Apparatus is a small-group equipment-based session available to clients on an ongoing subscription as a membership perk.
-
If you are more than 5-minutes late, you may be turned away and considered a no-show.
class types & teaching style
-
We’re a small, community-focused studio that’s all about helping you move in a way that feels good.
Our classes are capped at 9 (or 6 for Barre), so you’ll always get personalised attention.
We blend technical Pilates with a relaxed, inclusive vibe, and every instructor brings their own flavour to class so it stays fresh and fun.
-
Our Revere the Mat, Revere the Apparatus & Revere the Arc classes are programmed with Contemporary Pilates repertoire.
Our Revere the Burn & Revere the Barre classes are structured differently to give a more intense style workout, with some Pilates elements.
Revere the Release is a restorative, slow-flow, influenced by Pilates mobility, long hold stretches and breath work. -
At Revere Pilates, we honour the lineage and legacy of Joe Pilates’ original work while integrating the evolution of the Method.
Contemporary Pilates takes the foundational systems Joe developed and adapts them to suit the needs of today’s diverse population.
We're excited about the way Pilates intersects with modern insights into anatomy, biomechanics, and movement science, creating a practice that’s both rooted in tradition and progressive.
-
Yes, but in the best way! Mat Pilates builds strength, mobility, and body awareness using your own bodyweight and small props instead of spring-loaded resistance.
It often feels more grounded, more connected, and gives you a deeper understanding of your own movement.
You’ll still get a workout, we promise.
-
All of our classes are open-level with exercise layering, meaning they’re beginner-friendly while still being challenging for experienced movers.
If you would like a foundational introduction to mat Pilates, we offer a 5-week Beginners course. -
Heck yeah! Pilates is a perfect complement to other training.
It helps with mobility, core strength, injury prevention, and body awareness, making it ideal alongside running, lifting, cycling, yoga, or just life in general. You do you!
-
Our instructors come from a variety of nationally accredited and respected training backgrounds, including Pilates ITC, Breathe Education and Polestar.
Our teachers hold a minimum qualification of Pilates Matwork & Small Apparatus, and others continue to build upon their career pathway with a Reformer certification, or Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction.
Some of our skilled teachers also have specialised training in Pre & Postnatal Pilates, Scolio-Pilates® and Barre.
We value education and ongoing training, so you'll always be in experienced hands.
